Their operation depends largely on donations and the support of kind-hearted people, while maintenance costs continue to rise. Providing food on a regular basis is a fundamental need — it ensures that the animals can live with dignity and have a chance to recover. Every contribution matters. They help these facilities care for the health and well-being of their animal residents. Our fundraiser aims to provide them with the necessary resources to effectively assist animals in need. An important aspect is also raising public awareness about the situation of homeless animals and the role each of us can play in supporting them. We want more people to get involved in helping shelters, promoting adoption, and encouraging responsible pet care. Funds raised through this project will be used to purchase pet food and support informational and promotional activities. We believe that through our joint efforts, we can truly improve the lives of many animals. Of this number, around 125,000 animals reside in shelters, while the rest live without care. Although precise data for the Małopolska region is lacking, the number of homeless animals there can be estimated based on nationwide statistics. Assuming Małopolska represents a proportional share of the country's population, it is estimated that around 76,000 homeless animals live in this region, including approximately 45,000 dogs and 31,000 cats. It is roughly estimated that Małopolska shelters and rescue centers house about 5,900 dogs and 4,100 cats. However, it is important to remember that these are estimates, and the actual number of homeless animals may vary.

ENOUGH TO FEED ALL THE ANIMALS

This is how much shelters and rescue centers use daily

The estimated demand for food for homeless animals in Poland is enormous. In Małopolska alone, where shelters and rescue centers house 5,900 dogs and 4,100 cats, the daily costs for dry food are around 18,400 PLN, and for wet food approximately 163,500 PLN. Monthly, these figures are about 552,000 PLN and 4.9 million PLN, respectively. Caring for the animals involves enormous expenses, which is why every bit of support for shelters is incredibly valuable. The daily cost of feeding a dog is about 25.20 PLN, which amounts to 756 PLN per month.
